Cara Johnson, President
Cara is a third year board member and serves as President of YPCI and leads the Board of Directors in furthering YPCI's mission. Cara is an attorney at Taft Stettinius & Hollister, where she focuses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate work. She has previously been involved in various capacities with the American Lung Association, including the Indiana Lung Force Women’s Cabinet and the Fight for Air Climb Executive Leadership Team. Cara majored in Spanish at Valparaiso University before attending law school at IU in Bloomington. She enjoys hot yoga and spending time in Fountain Square, where she lives with her wife, Tanya, and their two dogs.
Kyle Cook, VP Membership
Kyle is a second year board member, serving as the VP of Membership. Kyle works as an Account Executive for EMC Corp, where his main area of focus is providing enterprise solutions to companies across Northern Indiana. Kyle is a graduate of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Management with concentrations in Marketing and Management Information Systems. When living in Atlanta and Cincinnati, Kyle has been in active roles through different YP Groups and looks forward to bringing these perspectives to an already strong group at YPCI.
Kayla Alexander, Director of Membership
Kayla is a first year board member and serves as Director of Membership. Kayla is a senior tax associate at Ernst & Young. She is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Kayla is an alumna of Indiana University, Kelley School of Business where she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Business Administration in Finance. Kayla is also a member of the Kelley School of Business Women's Alumni Network and volunteers at The Patachou Foundation. Kayla lives in Broad Ripple and enjoys traveling, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family.
Joe Hamgeri, VP Marketing
Joe is a second year board member, serving as the VP of Marketing. Joe works as a financial consulting in his own practice, Joe Hamgeri Consulting, where he provides CFO and tax consulting services. Joe is a graduate of Taylor University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. Joe also co-owns 3 Days in Paris, a street-style creperie located in the Indianapolis City Market. He also co-founded Deck'd Out, a company focused on creating social events that connect people with local causes in Indianapolis. Joe enjoys eating at local restaurants and connecting people to the Indianapolis community.
Maggie Contreras, Director of Communications
As a first year Board Member, Maggie Contreras serves as Director of Communications. Maggie is a producer at WISH-TV in Downtown Indianapolis. Before joining the Channel 8 team in August 2016, Maggie worked as the Executive Producer for KTXS in Abilene, Texas. She is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. In her spare time, Maggie enjoys exploring all the different places to eat in Indy, cooking for friends and family, and walking the Monon with her basset mix, Anni.
Kevin Koven, Treasurer
Kevin is a third year Board Member serving as Treasurer. Kevin is a Supervisor with Somerset CPAs and has over 5 years of public accounting experience and works primarily auditing public/nonpublic entities and employee benefit plans. He graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with concentrations in in Accounting and Finance. Kevin is currently a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. As a member of the Indiana CPA Society, he serves on the Emerging Leaders Alliance, Leadership Succession Committee and Integrated Reporting Committee. Kevin is also a graduate of the AICPA’s Leadership Academy and currently serves on the board of directors of the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter of Sigma Chi.
Sean Spafford, Sponsorship Chair
A third year Board Member, Sean serves as Sponsorship Chair. Sean joined Morgan Stanley in 2012. Prior to beginning his career in financial services, Sean graduated from Indiana University with focuses on economics and political science. Sean enjoys traveling, running marathons, and spending time with friends and family.
Creighton Shook, Networking Chair
Creighton is a second year board member, serving as the Networking Chair. Creighton is a commercial real estate broker with Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty Services, specializing in retail leasing and sales in central Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University, and enjoys playing golf, sailing, and anything outside.
Dan Quinn, Programming Chair
Dan is a first year Board Member, serving as Programming Chair. He is a member of BKD’s Transaction Services team where he performs middle market due diligence and M&A consulting services. Dan is a graduate of the IU Kelley School of Business with a BS in Accounting and MBA in Financial Analysis. Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, Kiley, and their friends and family, and doing just about anything active from hiking with their two dogs at Eagle Creek to getting in a good run, bike, or swim.
Andrew Podgorny, Tech Chair
Andrew is a first year Board Member, serving as the Tech Chair. Andrew, a Northwest Indiana native, attended Indiana University - Bloomington for undergrad and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law for his juris doctor. Currently, Andrew is an attorney with SmithAmundsen LLC, where his practice primarily involves advising banking and financial institutions, general corporate matters, securities laws, and creditor's rights.
Ryan Hart, Alumni Advisor
Ryan is in his fourth year on the YPCI Board and serves as Alumni Advisor. Ryan, is a Fort Wayne native, completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University Kelley School of Business and his MBA at Indiana University's Fort Wayne campus. He is a Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly 40 under 40 award winner and relocated to Indianapolis, with his wife Joni, in the fall of 2012. Ryan is a Commercial Banker at Lake City Bank, where he has worked for eleven years. Hart also serves on the board of the Central Indiana Risk Management Chapter and attends Life Church in Indianapolis.
Matt Cremer, Philanthropy Chair
Matt is in his first year serving as Philanthropy Chair to help grow YPCI. Matt grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Indiana University in 2012. Upon graduation, he managed a territory of Aldi grocery stores in the greater Indianapolis area. In April of 2016, he transitioned into Commercial Real Estate Brokerage with Coldwell Banker Commercial.
Nicole Makris, Golf Chair
Nicole is the 2017 Golf Outing Chair. A second year board member, she previously served as the 2016 Gala Chair. Nicole is a Co-Founding Attorney of Lamb Makris & Associates LLP, where she practices in Family Law, Criminal Defense, and Bankruptcy. Nicole is a graduate of Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and Indiana University Bloomington. She is passionate about art, travel, and her dog Leo.
Brittany Shaw, YP Unite Chair
A first year Board Member, Brittany serves as YP Unite Chair. Brittany is a second-year associate at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan and Aronoff, LLP where she practices business litigation. After Brittany graduated from Purdue University, she moved to New York City where she worked for the Top Chef judge, Tom Colicchio, and eventually for Verizon's corporate office in Manhattan. She eventually returned to Indiana for law school and recently graduated from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. In her spare time, Brittany enjoys traveling abroad, spinning classes, spending time with her friends and family, including her dog, Colty, and cat, Mildred ("Milly").
Adam Cox, Gala Chair & Co-Sponsorship Chair
Adam is a first year board member, serving as our Gala Chair and Co-Sponsorship Chair. Adam is one of two owners of chain of retail outlets across Indianapolis named Elite Beverages. Before starting his career in the fine wine, craft beer, and spirits industry, he graduated from Culver Military Academy. After Culver, he graduated from The Ohio State University with a focus on personal finance. When Adam is not working, he enjoys spending his time helping the Republican party, golfing, and supporting numerous charities.
