The 2010 Board of Directors:

Courtney Shafer, President

Courtney's role outside of being the 2010 President of YPCI is working for the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown family of hotels as a Senior Catering Sales Manager; this includes the Indy Marriott, the Courtyard at the Capitol, and the Residence Inn on the Canal.  Courtney primarily partners with clientele who are planning a meeting at one of our hotels but don’t need to stay the night.  This means the majority of her work is done with Indy’s local corporations and associations, along with an occasional wedding or social function thrown in there as well.  Beyond her professional responsibilities, she spends the majority of her free time with friends & family enjoying the simple things in life such as playing with her dog Izzy, going for a ride on her horse Hannah, or cheering on da' Bears!  Please feel free to reach out to Courtney with any questions about YPCI, the hospitality industry, or even how to ride a horse!

Bo Ramsey, Vice-President

Bo is an attorney practicing corporate law at Ice Miller LLP.  His practice consists of mergers & acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financing, and general corporate governance matters.  He graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing in 2003 and also earned a masters degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the Indiana University, Kelley School of Business, in 2008. He earned his law degree from Indiana University - Indianapolis in 2008, where he graduated cum laude.  Bo lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife Lindsay and two Wheaton terriers, Charlie and Henry.  In his free time Bo enjoys running and cycling and watching college football and Indiana basketball.

Kallie Bonnell, Golf Chair

Kallie Bonnell is the 2010 Golf Outing Chair for YPCI. Her day job is the Communications Manager at IHETS. Kallie is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Journalism. Kallie's other activities include the Hoosier chapter of PRSA where she is the co-chair for the new pros group. She is also member of Giving + Sum, and authors a professional development column for IndyHub.  Other pastimes include taking in live music, being active in a book club and playing intramural sports. Rachel Clupper, Technology Chair

Rachel is a CPA in the audit department of KPMG, LLP.  In addition to being the Indianapolis representative for her firm on the Midwest Audit Senior Council, she is a member of her firm's local office Senior Council and Action Council, both of which strive to make KPMG an Employer of Choice.  With a motto of: "work hard and play hard", Rachel enjoys spending her down time with family and friends.  She loves to host cookouts in the summer and travel to tropical destinations.  Rachel is in her second year of her term with the Board of Directors of YPCI.

Kirby Durham, Programming Chair

Kirby Durham is Assistant Vice President of Indianapolis Branch Sales for First Financial Bank. A graduate of the Kelley School of Business, Kirby specializes in the funding and development of start up businesses, non-profit organization wealth management, and personal injury litigation trust fund management. He also takes a special interest in his community through his Board Membership for Drug Free Marion County, membership at The Rotary Club of Indianapolis, and volunteer work for the United Way of Central Indiana.   As Program Chair for the YPCI, Kirby is putting membership education at the top of his list. In 2010, he hopes to provide luncheons that educate and inform YPCI members of the changes taking place within Central Indiana.

Brian Montminy, Corporate Sponsor Chair

Brian is a Senior Financial Associate with JP Morgan Chase in Indianapolis.  He received both his BS (2004) and his MBA (2008) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.  He is returning for his second year on the YPCI board after serving as Treasurer in 2009.  Brian lives near Morgantown, Indiana with his wife, Sarah, and son, Hudson.  In his free time, Brian enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his family.

Joe Nierman, Marketing Chair

Joe Nierman serves as a financial planner for WestPoint Financial Group.  He is also the chairman of membership for the Associate Council of the American Cancer Society and a member of the national alumni board for Marian University.  A native of Columbus, Indiana Joe now lives in Indianapolis with his wife Lindsey. They enjoy cycling, running, and going to Indians games.

Theresa Parish, Gala Co-Chair

Theresa earned a BA from DePauw University in 2005 double majoring in Computer Science and Spanish and her JD from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis in 2008. She is a second-year associate at Lewis Wagner, where she practices civil defense litigation including employment law, premises liability defense, environmental insurance coverage, and complex litigation.

Chad Rock, Gala Co-Chair

Chad is an Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager with Harris’ Middle Market Commercial Banking group. He is focused on providing banking solutions to privately held, middle market companies across a range of industries including manufacturers, distributors, food and agribusiness, and service companies. Current responsibilities include both business development and portfolio management. Chad earned his B.S in business administration from Illinois Wesleyan University. Other than YPCI, his outside involvement includes the Association for Corporate Growth, Venture Club, and the Economic Club of Indiana.

Kate Shelby, Networking Chair

Kate is a litigation attorney in Indianapolis.  She is also an accomplished speaker and author.  In her free time, Kate enjoys adventure sports and creative writing.  This is Kate's second year as Networking Chair and a YPCI Director. 

Dustin Thompson, Treasurer

In May 2009, Dustin earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University. He has a double major in accounting and finance along with a minor in entrepreneurship. In June 2009, Dustin began working as a staff accountant for Blue & Co., LLC.  He is currently pursuing his CPA.

Tonya Vachirasomboon, Secretary

Tonya is an attorney at Bingham McHale LLP and is a member of the firm's Business Advisory Department, Emerging Business Industry Team, Diversified Business Solutions Team, and Women's Forum.  Tonya focuses her practice on advising businesses and their owners in merger and acquisition transactions, providing general business advice, such as entity selection and formation and stockholder issues, drafting and reviewing contracts, and assisting clients in obtaining minority, women, and veteran-owned business certifications.  Tonya is also involved with professional and community organizations. She is in her second year with the Board of Directors of the Young Professionals of Central Indiana (YPCI) and of Forte, and she teaches a community yoga class for the benefit of Bethlehem House.

Chris Wyant, Membership Chair

Chris Wyant is a trial attorney practicing in the offices of Brown Tompkins Lory & Mastrian in Indianapolis.  His solo practice concentrates primarily on representing those who have been injured or killed as a result of others carelessness, and general litigation matters.  Chris graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2001 with a bachelor’s of science in kinesiology and graduated from Indiana University School of Law- Indianapolis in 2005.  He is an advisory board member in Rainmakers Marketing Group and serves on the program committee of PlayBall Indiana.  Chris is also a member of the Indiana Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, and Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.
